I am running all my updates via squid on one of my various boxes. It was not helpful to add the fixed ip in each of the squid-clients. It was however enough to add in the hosts - file of the squid-machine. Restarting squid was also needed. Just if someone has gvben a proxy in /etc/apt/apt.conf.
