I've just re-installed Ubuntu 9.10 as a dual boot with Windows 7 and
find that the DVD player will not work with Movie Player or VLC - yet
VLC works fine on Windows, so the drive is okay. I've downloaded the
restricted extras and checked to see if the codecs etc. are installed,
and they are. So what gives? Haven't had this problem with previous
installations of 9.10. I'm using a Dell InspironPP41L, which has a
Matashita DVD unit. Any solutions out there?
