I think this is related to how you added Medibuntu. I had the same
error message so I removed Medibuntu key and unchecked the repository in
synaptic. I then re-added Medibuntu using the method described at
http://www.unixmen.com/linux-tutorials/501-enchance-your-
ubuntu904-and-910-karmic-koala-repositories-with-midibuntu. Problem
gone.
