Charlie is right. Crediting causes a mess in the print order history. There is
one catch. If you are filling the initial fill of the RX and you have to
credit it back,
or if you are crediting back an RX and there are refills then you should ALWAYS
DO A REVERSE REFILL or do a CREDIT because if you do an UNRECEIVE REFILL
you will not be able to fill the rest of the refills on the RX or go back and
redo the initial RX. It sort of cancels out the RX and you have to do a copy
and edit - its a pain but once you understand and remember to do it is okay.
So if you are doing the initial fill on and RX or an RX with refills or an RX
with only one fill and you go to credit it back because the patient didn't
pick it up this time but will probably want it another time NEVER do an
UNRECEIVE REFILL. If it gives you a choice do the REVERSE REFILL, but if the
only
option is to
UINRECEIVE IT, I just tell the guys to credit it, if it is the first fill. That
is the only caveat I have. Also - this is in Magic 5.5 - I can't speak for
client server. Cindy

Dan - From what I've experienced, crediting causes many problems with
outpatient Rx's. Instead, you should use the reverse refill function.

Hello,
Currently, we enter some outpatient orders the day before the procedure,
with a start date of the following day (the day of the procedure). However, if
the dose must be credited on the day entered, Meditech does not allow a
future service date. Then, crediting with a different start date entered causes
billing problems. Is there any way around this? Thanks
