You probably are not using Client Server but it may be the
same or very similar. In C/S the transcriptionist, or whoever is making
the edits, finds the report in Meditech’s “Process Reports”
routine and then hits the “A” which is to amend the report.
They get a Word or rich text edit screen (which is blank, they cannot get to
the original text) depending on what format your facility uses and type the
addendum returning the document to the physicians signing queue once filed.
To “unsign” the document to make edits is technically altering a
legal document and should be discouraged.
