We moved the C/S 5.5.2 upgrade to Live two weeks ago. We were on 5.4.2.
For most modules, it was uneventful and the users cannot really see a
difference outside of slightly slower NPR reports.

However, it has been painful for our PCS and POM users. The color
scheme and screen layout are very cluttered making it difficult/more
time consuming to know where you are. The MAR has been especially hard
to adjust to as it is crowded, requires more clicks to use, and is more
lengthy since all meds, active and dc'd are on it. Also, the users are
experiencing a 2 to 15 minute lag time from filing to when documentation
is available.

Our physicians are referring to this upgrade as a downgrade and are
very frustrated with it. We have had physicians live on POM for almost 2
years now and have high participation. It is much slower to enter POM
now and filing is much slower. The users are forced to use the mouse in
places where they previously could just type (and still have
verification against pre-determined lists). It is easily taking them 3
times as long to enter orders and I expect it will still be twice as
long even after the learning curve. The only positive on the POM side I
could point to is that POM now opens in a separate window so you can
still navigate the EMR while entering orders. Unfortunately, this plus
does not outweigh the negatives.

The actual upgrade took 4 hours (not including D/R), most of that on
the FS side. We did need to increase the number of AI jobs to improve
the speed in PCS. We held 2 hour training sessions for all PCS users and
trained the physicians on the fly after go live. We had super users on
the units 24/7 for the first 2 days and that was very helpful.
