There is a HUB report describing who accessed a certain
patient and from what device. The report includes the account/medical
record number, user and what workstations. It does not indicate where in the EMR
the user went. We use this report and then review the EMR for signs of
documentation, orders and need to be in that record. The MIS User Log is
available for a 2 week period that may be helpful it is fairly detailed.

Client Server on 5.4. We have
monthly security audit meetings to ensure that our employees are following HIPAA
compliance. We have a situation
where some employees MAY be looking at fellow employees records when they
shouldn’t and if they are we want to be able to detect it. Now we have a VIP
list that you can run out of Meditech but is that the only way you can
tell? They are currently only
setting up certain people on the VIP list.
What are some of you doing in regards to this? How do you flag an employee who becomes
