Jan: We have an intervention in NUR called "Newborn Hearing Screen" that is on our newborn order set. Prior to discharge, the nurses run the test and document pass/refer on left/ride side. If this screening needs to be repeated, the "Y" response triggers an OA message to print telling them the date/time to return for the repeat screening. The pass/refer label that prints out from the machine gets placed on a progress note with the baby's label attached and faxed to the pediatrician, so those results are then in the doc's offices. Hope this helps...Diane Diane Folsom, RNC Clinical Information System Specialist Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital Kerrville, Texas 830-258-7080 Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail message, including any attachments, may contain confidential information.
