I could use some suggestions....... During the night (or hours when our Radiologists are not on site), our Emergency Department physicians review the x-rays and hand write the preliminary report and treats the patient. Once the radiologist comes in, he reviews the films and will either agree or disagree with that preliminary finding. Our Radiologist is asking to record this information electronically. All they want to keep track of is the patient name, ER Physician, Radiologist, and whether they agree or disagree. They are asking me to set something up so when the are dictating the radiology report, they will tell the transcriptionists that there is a preliminary report by ER Doctor XYZ and they agree with that report (or disagree with that report) - making this just a yes or no field. Any suggestions on where I could set up a CDS for the Radiology transcriptionists to easily enter this information? No one else in the facility needs to see this or access it except for a few key people in Radiology. Also, at the end of the month, they want to be able to run summary reports with such information as ER Doc XYZ read 100 preliminary reports, Radiologists agreed with 75 and disagreed with 25. Then they would want detailed reports as to what patients did they disagree on. We are a Magic 5.4 SR3 facility using $T Radiology. Has anyone ever created something like this or have any creative ideas for me to investigate? I'm thinking OE Departmental. Maybe it should be done in RAD -- but, ok, I'll say it -- it's not my most favorite module).
