I heard this from Mark Donovan at Meditech. The original documentation for using the allergens supplied by FDB in 5.5 alluded to this, but when I asked Mark about this, he stated that it will happen in 5.6. It's about time that Meditech has created a centralized allergy base for ALL users. It is really simple to find a drug because they are listed by brand, generic, and even classes are listed as well as excipients. All of the allergy checking is then performed using FDB's files via NDC's. If a drug doesn't have an NDC, you can still manually link it to an allergen. Charlie Charles R. Downs Pharm.D.
