Bob- We have been using MedDirect a McKesson product for close to a
year. It has worked great the pharmacist and technicians like the
functionality of the system. McKesson also has great support for the
system. You may want to look into it.

Bob - We use Pyxis connect. The nurses scan everything to pharmacy. I
would recommend that you look at this product.. I don't know what it
costs, but I'm sure that it is not cheap. I believe that other vendors,
including Omnicel offer scanning. The only problem with scanning is that
the nurses now expect to have their medications right after they scan
them, so you have to educate them that it is a definite improvement, but
that it still takes time to process the orders. I'm sure that it
wouldn't be too different from faxing though in this respect. Charlie
