Patty - This happens in pharmacy (on page one of the customer defined parameters you can pick Dubois, Haycock, or Other). This then displays on the patient profile. Perhaps you could use this?

Hi,
We have had a physician request that the BMI be collected/calculated.  It was recommended that this be done on admission.  After speaking with our RDs in the Nutrition Department, they said there is a lot more that goes into this and that the BMIs are not valid for certain populations (amputees, anasarca etc).
We were wondering if facilities have had this request, if nursing was documenting the BMI and if you had similar issues?
Thanks very much,
Patty
