MessageHi Randal, this issue was posted a few weeks ago, but I will post again. We are MAGIC 5.4.3. Check the following in OPS: --1. System Management -> 20. Enter/Edit TermServers, PCs, RemoteHosts --Pull up your VPN devices and check your "Negotiate Remote Read?" parameter. If it is "Y", it needs to be changed to "N". We had the same problems with a remote transcriptionist connecting via VPN, but within the RAD module. Our radiology consultant told us to do this, and when we did, our remote transcriptionist noticed a big difference in the typing. This solved our problem. I hope this solves your problem as well! The user's internet connection is provided by a satellite provider and our internet connection is from Bellsouth FastAccess DSL. We have 20+ users who use the VPN connection to access Meditech from time-to-time and they have no complaints about speed. The user only experiences this slowness when she is actually entering (typing) the transcription data. The client is using Cisco VPN client 4.0.2 and we have a Cisco PIX firewall on our end. Any ideas on why this slowness is only happening when the user is typing the transcription report?- TIA for responses.
