How do you register patients when all of your licensed beds in a unit are occupied? Occasionally, we will have more patients in one unit than we have licensed beds and we are unable to get the patient registered because we do not have a bed in that unit to admit the patient to. This happens most often in our maternity unit as we have 10 licensed beds and sometimes all 10 beds are full and another patient will come in. Thank you very much for your help.
