We have the same solution, an outside source to enter orders during off
hours.

Subject: RE: [MEDITECH-L] eMAR/BMV AND PHYSICIAN ORDERS - NO 24 HR
PHARMACY

We conducted a FMEA looking at various options. We actually contracted
with an outside source to enter orders during the midnight shift as we
had so many concerns about orders written during the hours the pharmacy
was closed.

Good Morning
Inquiring how others are handling this situation - Nursing Staff are
reluctant to sign off physician orders written on off shifts when
pharmacy is closed as they can not validate the medication orders. My
thoughts are that the acknowledgement of drug via eMAR/BMV once pharmacy
has entered the orders is the validation of the physician orders for
medications - A process change from the paper MAR world. - Has anyone
else had their nurses voice this concern?

Thank you in advance for any insight/suggestions.
