Roger -- We have made the conversion from 3Com 2500 Magic servers to
3Com 2600 TCP/IP servers for our terminals and serial printers. As to
the lab instruments, however, we had to resort to an I-Touch
(Xyplex-type) term server, as I could not get the 2600 to behave itself
with those instruments. A few of the serial label printers in PHA and
LAB have since been added to this new term server. The I-Touch was
obtained from JJ Wild. The relatively high cost of that term server
(about $3000), however, was offset by the support they gave us.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] TCP/IP Term Server
We are in the process of adding TCP/IP Term Servers to our magic System.

We have Lab equipment, couple of modems and 2 serial printers.
What term servers are you running at your hospital?
How was the setup of these?
Are you happy with the decision of the TCP/IP Term Server?

Thanks in advance
