We are currently
in the process of implementing Meditech LAB. I am setting up a Medinet interface
with Mayo and I am unclear regarding the necessary definitions to create the
various specimen batches needed. Some of our specimens go to Mayo-Rochester and
some go to Mayo-New England. On our current lab system, we can create up to 6
separate batches, one batch for each storage condition for each Mayo lab
site.
I was told to set
up three lab sites, one for each Mayo lab that batches will be sent to, and one
generic Mayo site to be used as the "official" performing site in Meditech. That
should take care of where the batches will go, but can someone tell me how the
batches will get separated according to storage (ie. Room temp, regrigerated,
& frozen)? Do I need to set up 6 lab sites, one for each mayo lab and
storage condition?
