the EMR only shows what is sent to it. ITS is where the dictating physicians are entered when the report is typed. If these reports are dictated by Nurse Practiioner , their mnemnoic would go into Dictated by , and if someone has to sign for them their mnemnonic would go in Other Dictated by . The report format can have signature lines added to show both Dictated by and Other Dictating physicians. I think you can also have the system keep track of who reviews reports for who in the ES Alternate signers or co-signers dictionary , Its been so long I dont remember which. We are Client server , so not sure if this helps you much. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Ron Rutherford Sent: Monday, April 10, 2006 6:27 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [MEDITECH-L] EMR question re: dictating nurse practitioner All messages should be posted in plain text. HTML will be converted to attachments. The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== At our facility we have nurse practitioners dictating H&P's for our attending cardiologists. It is of significant concern to the cardiologists that the EMR under 'Other reports' lists the dictating NP and not the cardiologist (even though the field is titled 'Dictated by'. If you have information to support or not support this concern, please forward that information to me asap.
