I am
investigating barcode label printers for our LAB & ITS applications. I
need direct thermal for the lab collection labels, and thermal transfer for the
micro "workcards" and ITS film labels. For the lab collection labels, we will
probably put higher volume printers in the lab and lower volume printers on
nursing station and outreach locations. Does anyone have any advice based on
their own experience they can share with me?
Also, the micro
supervisor does not want to go "paperless" and wishes to keep the procedure we
have now. We have a thermal transfer barcode label printer that prints on 3.73"
x 6.625" label stock. The label stock is die cut into a label with patient and
order info, 6 barcode labels, and 20 small, slide label sized labels. Though
never completely used up, many of the labels are used during workup of the
culture. These "workcards" are also used to jot down workup info. If anyone is
using something similar, I would be interested in hearing how to set this up in
Meditech.
Thanks,
Brian
