We do a disk-to-disk backup for MT data and those backups are kept online for two weeks. We do a once a week backup to tape.  Since the tape backup is done only once a week, we have about 8 weeks of backup on tape.  We do not do a monthly backup to tape. We do, however, run a quarterly backup and this is kept for one year.

I am looking for input as we are evaluating our current back up tape saving process.
 
For meeting IHHA and HIPAA regulations, how long are you keeping your Meditech back up tapes?
 
How long are you keeping daily backup tapes?
 
Are you keeping monthly tapes? If so, for how long?
 
Are you keeping yearly tapes? If so, for how long?
