Hi John-
Kevin Boldt and I are co-founders and moderators of MeditechTalk.com,
although Kevin Boldt is the mastermind programmer behind the scenes. This
is far from a "passing fancy" - we have been planning this for some time
now. Between us, we have over 30 years experience with MEDITECH. We are
both clinicians that have utilized MEDITECH in our day to day practices, and
now act as Independent Consultants...and MeditechTalk.com moderators! As I
have explain in other messages, we never intended any "negativity" and in
fact we immediately changed/replaced the content mentioned.
Thanks for taking the time to write and also take the time to visit
MeditechTalk.com - I know you'll find new things each and every time you
login.

Thanks to all - Kevin.

I do like the idea of message forums categorized by subject, but I'd hate to
see competition and negative campaigning against the L. A forum like
MeditechTalk could be another useful tool for communicating and finding
information. Of course, it would be nice to know a little more about who's
maintaining MeditechTalk and why... Will there be a commitment to keeping it
up and running or is it just someone's passing fancy?

There is this little blurb at the bottom of the page - "MeditechTalk.com is
managed by Boldt-On Consulting Inc" link: http://www.boldtonconsulting.com/
It looks like it's just one person running it.

I just saw the reference to www.MeditechTalk.com in another message, so
naturally I checked it out.

First, let me make it clear that I'm not affiliated in any way with either
the Meditech-L list or the MeditechTalk web site, so what I have to say is
my opinion and mine alone. I'm also not sending this to the L to start
anything or cause trouble, but the L is our primary tool for communication
and I wanted to share my observations with all of you.

The Meditech-L references on MeditechTalk struck me as negative and
unnecessary. I quote:
"If you were tired of receiving HUNDREDS of emails every day from a certain
List, then this site is for YOU! Instead of searching THOUSANDS of
DISCONNECTED emails and messages, you can search through a neatly organized
website!" In a survey on the Home page, the first two answers to the
question "Why will you join the Meditech Talk community?" are "Cannot find
anything on the L-List" and "My In Box is too full of L-List messages".

I couldn't find any responsible parties' names on the web site, so I don't
know who has created it but it might be a good idea. I don't like the
impression of competition between a web site and a list, though. I don't
like the impression of 'negative campaigning' that these comments give.

Huh. I've still been poking around on the web site and I do see that the
site admin has a web site listed: Website: http://www.RPhInformatics.com.
And . . . the original reference to MeditechTalk came from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] So I guess RPHInformatics is the
creator/owner/operator of MeditechTalk. And . . . RPHInformatics.com is
still "under construction". Curiouser and curiouser. . .
