Hi Roger-
I suppose you could "configure" the system, do the setup, give access to
all
of Nursing...have you thought of using an OA message? I have seen that
be
pretty effective for things as you describe, as well as "missing doses",
cMAR issues on 24 hr chart check, etc.

Best of luck - Kevin.

Is it possible to utilize the nurse HOLD ACKNOWLEDGEMENT function
without
fully implementing EMAR? Basically, I want nursing to be able to view
the
new meds, and if there is a problem with the order as entered
communicate
that electronically to pharmacy. We will not be live with Emar for
18-24
months.

Thanks - Roger Beverly, PharmD

Hi, this can be done. You need to have an OE CAT set up (ours is
MEDS), it
does not have to be active. Then define the OE CAT in the PHA
Parameters.

Has anyone figured out a way to get new (hence unacknowledged) meds to
appear separately on the nursing status board? We are Magic 5.4 soon to
become 5.5 and just starting to play with this for meds. We probably
won't
fully implement the eMAR until we are ready for BMV, but would like to
experiment with having nurses see and acknowledge new meds via their
existing status board. Thanks
