Hello Everyone -
We are currently implementing HDX along with Meditech's EDI Insurance
Verification interface. We know that several users out there have been
believe that the screens can be improved upon to make the interface
friendlier to the end user, and some have been struggling to change work
processes to make this technology change work well. A group of sites
has decided that a SIG will help us collaborate. We will be meeting
Friday June 2nd at 1:30 pm (for two hours) during the MUSE conference.
We are soliciting users with this interface regardless of your
clearinghouse vendor. We want to find out how well the interface is
working for you as it is currently designed and we want your opinions on
whether a different design would benefit your organization. We are also
trying to get a few different Magic and Client Server sites to present
their set up of the interface. If you would like to participate and/or
have ideas for additional agenda items, please contact me. A
description of the SIG is pasted below for your information.

Thanks, Joni.

Title: MEDITECH EDI Insurance Verification Interface

Abstract: MEDITECH EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for Insurance
Verification is an interactive insurance verification process between
MEDITECH (information receiver) and Payer databases (information
sources). The interface gives customers the ability to send ANSI 270
eligibility benefit transactions to an information source from
Admissions (ADM), Scheduling (CWS), or Billing/Accounts Receivable
(BAR). The information source creates an ANSI 271 eligibility response
that is returned to the information receiver. The MEDITECH interface
includes several screens or pages to capture the 271 data from the
information source including demographic, subscriber eligibility
benefits, dependent eligibility benefits, reference information, and
customer-defined data. Some of the known information sources that
integrate with MEDITECH's EDI Insurance Verification interface are HDX,
Nehen, MedUnite, SSI, WebMD, and Quovadx.

Purpose: Identify and discuss payor, Meditech, and information source
issues and propose solutions to enhance MEDITECH data capture and
streamline system workflows.
