Hello Lr's, I am posting this question on behalf of one of our Nurse Managers. It's an off-MEDITECH topic. How do you address tubing misconnections to prevent a sentinel event? What is the policy in your hospital when it comes to tubings (all kinds-IV's, Cathethers,....? ) Do you label the tubings as such (ie. This is an IV tubing, This is a tube feeding tubing,....)? Do you color-code it? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Cristina G. Castillo, BSN, RN Manager, Clinical Informatics Pacific Alliance Medical Center 531 W.
