Hello, We are a Meditech Magic 5.5 hospital with several IT projects in the near future and would like to know what other hospitals are doing. We have Meditechs Nursing module and never used it. We are now looking to reimplement Nursing, looking into BMV to prepare for 2007 Patient Safety Goals, and need to determine the best way to go for documentation devices. If you have a moment, I would like to ask a few questions about your facility. Are you using Meditechs Nursing Module? If so, did you implement it on your own (with Meditechs implementation team), or did you hire a consulting firm to assist with implementation (or reimplementation whichever the case may be)? Are you using (or implementing) a BMV product? If so, which vendor (Meditech, Iatric, etc.) did you choose and why? What types of devices (wireless carts, handhelds, hardwired thin clients/PCs in patient rooms, etc.) are you using on your nursing floors? If using wireless devices, what vendor did you choose and why? Are you using the GE QS Monitoring System for fetal monitors in your Labor and Delivery department? If so, is it only used for fetal monitoring, or do your nurses document in this system? If they document, does it interface and flow to Meditech? Do you use some form of medication dispensing machines in your nursing areas? If so, which vendor? Are you using any type of barcoding (patient armband, charge entry of supplies, materials mgmt inventory, etc.)? What vendor did you use for barcode scanners/readers? Are you using any type of scanning or forms management? This could be at time of registration (id, insurance card, consent), in business office (remittance advices), or in HIM. If so, which vendor (Blue Chip, Shams, etc.) did you choose and why? What product do you use to check for Medical Necessity? Thanks in advance for your assistance, Karon Casey Information Systems Analyst Granville Medical Center Oxford, North Carolina _______________________________________________ meditech-l mailing list [email protected] http://mtusers.com/mailman/listinfo/meditech-l
