The * was for those of us who used the old "DG" hand helds for
documenting Nursing Interventions. Queries can be "O" type (allows
responses "Other" than those in the Group Response Dictionary). The
hand helds however, did not allow typing with the keyboard.

So, MEDITECH set it up so we could have an * in the group response
dictionary, and then added a routine that found any intervention this
nurse responded to a query with an *. This way, the nurse could return
to a desk top PC and easily find all of the queries with an *, and
change them to the correct response.

All,
Bear with me, for I do not know what I am talking about...... My
nursing director came for a magic facility and we are a client server
facility. At her old facility, the nurses could enter an * in any
assessment that was incomplete. AT the end of the shift, the nurse
could recall her asterisks
(*) to display any incomplete assessments.

Can anyone explain this process to me and is it available in client
server?

Thanks
