We recently had a BAR Operational Assessment and one of the recommended action items was to write off any BD account that was determined to be uncollectible to allow it to be eligible for purging. We would like to know how other facilities are handling Bad Debt accounts that have been deemed uncollectible. Do you write-off the balance of the account to remove them from the system, or do you leave them on with a balance in an non-collectable agency?
