======================================

We recently converted to 5.5, SR2, and there is a change that I don't recall being documented but that can create problems if you use ordered volume instead of actual volume as a data element on labels or the MAR, plus it also displays under process orders. Also, rx volume is the data element that we are using for the labels and the MAR, but now that  is really ordered volume. Does anyone know what the data element is for actual rx volume? I have pasted my service issue below.
****When entering an IV order, uses KCLI20 x 20 mEq(10 ml) and D6 (100 ml) as the
carrier, enters a duration of say 24 hours, the rate defaults in as 42.083ml/hr
and the ordered volume is 1010 ml. Now if I use the previous field key to go
back and change the rate to say 43 ml/hr, the duration stays at 24 hours, but
the ordered volume changes to 1032 ml, which is incorrect because the ordered
volume should still be 1010 ml. However, if I change the duration, the rate
changes (as it should) and the ordered volume stays the same. I checked in 5.4
test and this does not happen, so it is something new in 5.5 and happens in 5.5
test and live. The bottom line is that the ordered volume should not change
unless it is changed in that field.****
Thanks,
Charlie
