one thing that may help is to check what type of printer you have setup as the default on the computer you are trying to view the reports on. Here we found if a computer did not have a printer installed, or had a generic label printer or a really old printer as the default, MSWORD does not know what fonts to display its reports in. We had this issue when trying to view word reports from EMR . If we installed a printer that had at least arial and a good number of fonts word would start working. Our symptom was the word report would appear as a blank page. rich text would print just fine. Hope this helps. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Brian Nelligan Sent: Thursday, April 27, 2006 6:00 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MEDITECH-L] MS Word and Meditech All messages should be posted in plain text. The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== We are Meditech C/S 5.5.2 and use MS Word with our transcription people in the ITS module. We also use Citrix to connect to our data centre. We are running into a few issues that I was hoping someone on the "L" has had the same and resolved them. Issue #1. We have about 1% of reports having no body in the report. We see it in RTF, we see it in the network rich text file we autosave at filing, we see it when it prints, but do not see it if we try to preview or view in Word or when we try to amend the report there is no body. Issue #2. The body of the report is not in bold, but when saved and printed it is in bold. When viewed in RTF it is bold, when viewed in Word it is normal. Issue #3. We have the report open with a default file that has the body justified so it is square on the left and right margins. When it is filed the rich text file is not justified, when viewed in RTF it is not, when printed it is not. I know that there are issues with using MS Word and Meditech, but I was hoping someone could tell me a hint or workaround or a setting that may help. Thanking you all in advance. ------------------------------------ Brian Nelligan Clinical Application Analyst Information Management and Technology Services Palliser Health Region 666 - 5th Street SW Medicine Hat, AB T1A 4H6 Ph: 403-502-8648 ext. 1371 Fax: 403-529-8926 "This email is intended for the use of the recipient to which is addressed and may contain confidential information.
