Thin clients on moble carts hardwired with cable wrap and small ups so it can be unplugged and moved without loosing data. The thin client server can be maintained in IS. The clients are virtually "silent" and work like a PC for the end user. They are 400 - 800 each. PCs are too bulky and can have local problems, Wireless seems to loose connection and even if it is wireless, the power still needs to be plugged in at some point.

This is just my point of view and not even what we have done here. We are still having issues... Like everyone else.   Good Luck, Mark Champion

We need some help from other hospitals concerning what has worked and what hasn’t worked when it comes to computer stations in OR rooms.  Right now we are still going back and forth between wall-mounted stations and wireless cart solutions.  We would love to hear from other hospitals concerning their experience.  We will be purchasing Meditech OR module shortly, but our OR staff has a need now for computer access due to eMar, BMV, etc.  Thanks.
