We do almost the same except we require the complete and accurate information come directly from the staff (ie Admissions area) to I.S., where the data is entered as a non-staff provider into the Provider Dictionary. I.S. then updates the ADM record immediately which removes the MISC mnemonic that was entered upon admissions and replace with the newly created mnemonic. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Jim Sehloff Sent: Wednesday, May 03, 2006 9:00 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [MEDITECH-L] (CWS/ADM) Adding Providers that aren't in the Pr All messages should be posted in plain text. The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== Our central schedulers send a MOX message to our staff in charge of the provider dictionary that includes as much detail as possible along with the date of service. We research their credentials and then enter them as non-staff providers. That way we are sure that the provider is properly licensed and that reports get to where they need to. This will become even more important when the NPI is in place. Jim Sehloff M.S. But keep in mind that NPI is comming next year and we will have to report the NPI of the referring MD on ALL 837 Electronic claims. It soesn't look like "surrogate" NPIs will be allowed. Maybe these Docs should be entered into the Provider Dictionary............ The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== Hello All, Just a quick question: If, at the time of scheduling, a patient comes in with an order for a test or exam of some kind then how does your facility handle capturing the Provider information so that the results can be forwarded in an expedited manner? (i.e.: same day transmission of results to Provider) Please keep in mind that the Provider in question has never been entered into our Provider dictionary. Thank you all for your help, and if you need further information to help me solve this issue, please e-mail me.
