Hi Warren, This can be done but here's a different approach. We decided that pain is the 5th vital sign but is not required if a full set of vitals is not entered. We placed an REQI attribute that requires a response to pain rating if the user entered a response for temp, pulse, RR, and BP. Otherwise, they may skip the pain query. So, here goes: On a screen used to document VS, we have decided to make the pain scale a required field for better nursing compliance. However, there are instances when the nurse is documenting frequent VS, say every 10 or 15 minutes, where they only really need to document the BP and P. During these times, it would be nice if they weren't being forced to document in the pain field. So my goal is this: I would like to be able to take the time the last pain scale was documented, subtract it from the time current VS are being documented, and if that time is less than 30 minutes, skip the pain query. Can it be done? Thanks in advance for any help.
