We have POM order sheets print for each order session.

I haven't looked at 5.5.2 test but the POM order summary in 5.4 didn't
print orders and edits to those orders in chronological order.

For example if you started a med and d/c'd it 4 hours later, the POM
order summary when printed retrospectively would print:
1) one order for that med and the status would be DISCONTINUED.

 We wanted:
1) one order for when the med was started and
2) one order for when it was stopped.

We get that with the POM order sheets. So consequently we print and
file all of the POM order sheets in the chart. We have separate
sections for POM printed orders for handwritten orders. Each is filed
chronologically.

Good Morning Phyllis and crew,
We have the Patient Order Summary print each night (by humans in the
Data Center) to each patient location. That becomes the order of record
as the e-signature is captured there as well. The POM Order Sheets are
then purged out of the record. At this time, we still have a paper
chart but are trying to move away from that in the next ?? years.

We are also in the process of putting up the DR so I am not certain how
that will affect what we need to print and store. That is being
evaluated as the DR is put into place.

Hope this helps.

For those of you who are live with POM and physician ordering
online, are you saving the POM order sheet as part of the paper chart
(along with the non-automated written orders). Also, what are you doing
with docuentation for Medicare of the MD signature of these orders? ITS
has a statement on reports that says it has been electronically signed
by the MD. The POM order sheet does not. Any input would be greatly
appreciated.
