Hello, WE are trying to group multiple DRGs in order to get a more accurate case mix. For all patients we would like to get botht he Medicare DRG and the All Payor (AP). Meditech said this is possible but requires we set up customer defined screens and manually group the patient twice in 3M. Is anyone else doing this, and if so, how? Thanks! All it lacks is for Meditech to get off their rear ends and provide an index for BAR.PAT.txn.ser.date (res.user.cl.reminder.x and res.user.reminder.x are useless in this case). As it is, the program would run âEUR¦ and complete sometime around your retirement date. (It has to search every record in BAR.PAT â~¹) In short, if anyone else has any ideas, IâEUR(tm)m all ears, but I donâEUR(tm)t think it is really possible from BAR.PAT with having canned text and transaction user output in mind. When a patient is registered the registration staff copy from Demo Recall. The problem is that Demo Recall does not contain the new insurance address. Meditech is recommending that we manually go into every account that has these insurance mnemonics to update Demo Recall with the new address. This will ensure new registrations will have the correct insurance when it is copied from Demo Recall. We also will have to do this same manual process in BAR to correct the current accounts with the old insurance address. Meditech says there is no automatic routine to update insurance address changes. Has anyone come up with an automated way to get insurance address changes into Demo Recall and BAR? I know our region (V), and the International meetings have pre-session training days. You get to meet peers, and folks experienced in the real world of applications. Plus, they are at a great conference! Another great option is to have a vendor (pick one from the MUSE Matters) do an onsite training. You could even share the expense with other Meditech hospitals in your area.
