We too had issues with the scanners but ours revolved around the speed.
We went with the 4120's mentioned but I believe those have been replaced
by the 5120's. We were also just told by our sales rep that these tend
to have issues overtime feeding plastic cards and that they are no
longer validated to do cards. I do not know if that is completely true
or not. We have been up for a year now on the 4120/5120 and have not
replaced any.

Our rep recommended a Xerox Documate 272, the downfall is that plastic
cards feed through the back. They do however feed straight through and
do not have any angles whatsoever. The rep I refer to is not Valco but
an Insight rep whom we purchase through. We just got or first Xerox but
have not tested it yet.

My suggestion is to pay the extra money for a Fujitsu 4120c, it is well
worth it. We started with the Ambirs and had nothing but problems so we
ended up replacing all of them.

We have recently run into issues with the Travel Pro Scanners. They have
been discontinued and we have had a couple break recently. I checked
with Valco and their list of scanners doesn't really include a
replacement price wise. Has anyone run into any issues with this and
what have you replaced these scanners with?
