Title: Flagging clinical precautions

We are currently using 4.9SR7.  At this time to collect MRSA/VRE we have a custom query that is only edited by our Infectious Department.  We pull this data to reports and to our patient's chart upon registration.

Besides the Clinical Indicators in ADM, is there a way to flag a patient in every module to identify MRSA and/or VRE?
The reason we don't like the clincal indicators in ADM is because we don't feel that a Registrar should be collecting and communicating clinical data.

If there are orders placed on the patient can a message come up to indicate that the patient has an infection in all modules or just specific modules?  If the patient is access in $T RAD, can they too be notified?  We would like to know what others are doing to notify all clinical areas, our patient transport, and our food services department regarding all patients, Inpatient and Outpatient that the patient is a contact isolation patient.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.
