Hi Lea,

We, too, had a similar problem with Q1H directions. The problem wound up being
that we had a direction built in the MIS Directions dictionary for Q1H for NUR
module but we had no times assigned. As a result, the system treated this as a
one time occurance.

If you want the intervention due every 15 minutes based on the actual time the
directions were started, remove the Q15M from the directions dictionary. If
you want Q15M to be timed based on the top of the hour, then you must define
the Q15M directions with ALL 96 times that it should come due!

For our problem, we removed Q1H from the dictionary but built Q1H-OTH defined
as 0000,0100,0200, etc... This way, we can use either/or.

Hope this helps,
Kenny Whiteside

All,

I've been trying to create a pilot program for implementing our Status
Board and Flowsheet functions in Meditech. We demo'd what we have to
some of the staff the other day, but Labor and Delivery had a question I
could not answer. The Status Board reminders for scheduled
interventions are WONDERFUL and would be of great help to many areas in
our hospital, but there seems to be some issues with timing. I'm hoping
it is just something I am missing in the dictionary for directions
and/or the status board/flowsheet dictionaries themselves. I'd like to
have these features available to all our units eventually.

I have tested these features with interventions as close as Q2H, and
they seem to work fine. The reminder notices show in the Status Board
and I can click on the '+' on the flowsheet to see more detailed info
for interventions documented in shorter time periods than what the
columns define.

The question L&D has is that many of their interventions are Q15M
(Every 15 minutes). When I try to assign this in the directions, I get
the initial reminder notice, but none of the other upcoming
interventions display...even after documenting one, I won't get a
reminder for the next one. I know I can assign status board/flowsheet
by location, so I just need to know what settings to change to have
these reminders pop up for them at Q15M if possible.

If anyone out there has successfully implemented the Status Board and
Flowsheet, I'd love to get input from you! Our nursing staff really
believes this is the one thing we've been missing to tie it all together
and I'd like to have this up and running as soon as possible for them.

Thanks in advance!
