Recently I submitted a question regarding a process of our medical record coders entering charges and coding emergency room services on the same day. What I found was that Magic users can enter charges via BAR, send the charges/codes to ABS, and then code and final the services in ABS all in the same day. This process is now considered the best practice model nationally. This process clearly supports compliance, ensures accuracy, and improves the revenue cycle for Emergency Department Services. Unfortunately, this is not an option in Client Server. CS does not have the capability to perform the "send to ABS" within the same day. Therefore, requiring the coders to enter the charges on day and then waiting until the midnight close to enter the codes in ABS. From my last e-mails, I found many CS users who are performing this exact process, making the coders touch every record twice, doubling the productivity rate. I wanted all CS users to know I requested a custom to operate in the same fashion as Magic; however, was denied. I then posted a MIX Product Enhancement Suggestion - #4821245.
