======================================

We are a Magic 4.9 site. We have a blanket denial from Medicare B for
services provided by un-credentialed providers. This blanket denial
allows us to bypass billing Medicare for these services and sending the
bill directly to the secondary insurance. To send the secondary claim
using the 837 format we need to be able to have the COB data pull into
the claim. Meditech has stated that the only way to feed data into the
COB structure is using electronic remittances. Since we don't need to
actually send these services to the primary insurance, we don't get an
electronic remit with COB data.

Has anyone had a similar situation? How have you worked around getting
the COB data onto the secondary claim? Would writing an NPR report to
pull the proper data (UCRN, claim charges, dates of service, etc) into a
download format to then use the electronic remit routine work? Has
anyone created their own remit to post COB data?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Jen
