Greetings -L humans... I hope everyone had a safe trip home from MUSE 2006 Orlando! What a GREAT time! Now down to work again... I was asked to get this info while at muse but I was so busy attending sessions and spending my life savings in the Pepper Market that I wasn't able to ask anyone there about this... Can you check with someone from the Nursing Module and see if they are planning any significant changes to the Staffing/Scheduling module? We still are not able to use it partly due to the fact that it only allows 3 schedule groups to be viewed per scheduling location. Another it the format in which the schedules are viewed on screen as well as on paper. Since only 3 scheduling groups can be viewed per schedule we still must maintain the staffing board and trying to "put up" the scheduling board from these schedules proved to be a monumental task. Also the viewing on the screens and by the nurses is to totally different from what we are accustomed to that people cannot tell when they are to work. Another big problem is the scheduling codes - they are too limited. The code itself can be 3 characters but the display code is only 1. Once D,E,N,A and P are used the other codes do not make sense to anyone. Danny was asking me again yesterday, why we still use that peg board and not the staff/scheduling module. When I told him some of the reasons he reminded me that you are at MUSE and that I should send you an email or MEDITECH message and you could check and see if there were any planned changes for the near future. Thanks in advance from anyone who can reply to Martha's question(s). David McAllister, MT(ASCP) Systems Analyst/Programmer Jeff Anderson Reg. Med. Ctr.
