An Order Set has been developed for a piggyback - the additive is in a Pyxis cabinet but the carrier is "supplied" from floor stock. As the user enters an order, the inventory field is MAIN and can not be changed to the Pyxis inventory associated with that location. If the order is entered with the additive alone on the carrier line and the diluents noted in the Label Comments it works. I have been playing with the "Exception" column on the inventory page (Drug Dictionary and Inventory) - the documentation says (I know, don't get me started on that one) that if "Y", this inventory will not be part of the default hierarchy and only be available through lookup when selecting an inventory at order entry". Obviously the item has to be "taken" from somewhere... My question is this: what are other sites doing about this issue with regards to workarounds?
