Yes, I do have information. Actually,
Meditech contacted ME about it.
Here is the information from the task that
Meditech opened. I hope it helps!
MEDITECH has coded a
custom software change for our Pharmacy users that also have the RXM module
installed or are in the process of installing. This task is
being created to request Change Control for moving this change to your Test
directory.
RXM utilizes the Pharmacy Formulary Service tape loads to populate their
database with medications for ordering that the Pharmacy does not have in the
Drug Dictionary. When ordering through the RXM Drug Dictionary, which is
created and updated from RXM formulary tape runs, parameters for RXM Formulary
Service loads can vary from your Pharmacy Formulary loads. Knowledge Base
Article# 20470 details the parameter recommendations for your RXM loads.
These RXM tape loads do not need to be filed into Pharmacy and should not be
filed into Pharmacy because of the parameter differences. Filing
the RXM load into Pharmacy can cause unwanted updates to your existing Pharmacy
medications. Our custom modification adds functionality to the Formulary
Loading process to prevent the filing of an RXM load into the Pharmacy.
With this modification in place, upon Verifying the Formulary Service Tape Run
parameters a flag will
present to the user asking:
"Is this run being loaded for RXM?"
The default response will be YES. If the new tape run is created as an
RXM load, then this tape run can not be filed in Pharmacy using the FILE RUN
FILE
DRUGS routine. Only tape runs that are not RXM loads can be filed.
The default response of YES is in place so that the Pharmacy dictionary data
will be
protected if the user does not intentionally change this setting.
Please review this information and Knowledge Base article and update this task
with the appropriate Change Control. Once this modification has been
delivered
you can test this functionality by creating an RXM tape load and trying to file
this into Pharmacy. You will see that all RXM loads prevent this filing
to
occur and if you create a Pharmacy load this can be filed. If there are
any questions regarding this change please speak with your Applications
Specialist.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] RXM and
Formulary Run Message
When
I was at MUSE last week, someone in the Pharmacy JAM session was talking about
a new Magic DTS they had received that gave them a prompt when processing a
Formulary Load in Pharmacy asking if the run was an RXM run (or something like
that).
I
have asked MEDITECH about this and they have not been able to locate the
DTS. If you have any information about this, could you please contact
me? Thanks.
