Our nurses acknowledge meds as the orders come in. If a patient stays
long enough, the orders would have to be reacknowledged after 30 days.
Whatever nurse takes off the orders acknowledges the medications (it's
usually the nurse taking care of that patient). For acknowledgement,
eMAR is checked against the original written order.

For sites that are up and running with either eMAR and/or BMV ...
How often are you having nurses acknowledge med orders on the eMAR?
Who is responsible for this ... the charge nurse? Staff nurse?
What is the prescribed procedure for acknowledging ... is the nurse to
go back to the original written order and compare it to the one on the
eMAR?
Thanks.
