Good Day, L-gurus

We have an automated system to call the licensed caregiver when a critical
result is verified. My problem arises in that the calls will be generated
on all inpatients and Emergency Department patients. All others need to
have the call initiated by manual means. We have an audit trail for the
automated calls, but need a way to display an editable comment when the
patient status is other than ADM IN or REG ER.

Our system will also notify the licensed caregiver of STAT results at the
specimen level (the alert is generated by the Notifications routine at the
site level) for all In Patients and Emergency Department patients. We need
the same audit trail as above for the other statuses.

Any and all solutions or suggestions will be appreciated.

TIA
