For pre-admit patients you can go to the Edit Pt Data in PHA and temporarily assign them a cart, then proceed with order entry and when they are admitted the correct cart will be assigned automatically according to the location. I am not aware of a way for pharmacy to setup drugs to be pulled from pyxis on pre-in patients. I am talking about patients that have not been registered as of yet. My understanding is that in order for pharmacy to put in drug orders for patients they have to be in a registered. Since the pre-in patients don't have a location we can not put in the drug orders. How are other facilities handling this situation? Any advice would be wonderful.
