Hello L, We are in the process of EDM implementation. We are Magic 5.5, and have PYXIS and plan to have PYXIS profile in the ED. Any suggestions or lessons learned you would be willing to share? We are going to look at the process but this is what we thought the "REAL WORLD" would be like: 1) Doctor enters order into meditech - which flows to Pyxis profile. 2) Nurse removes drug from Pyxis via the patient's profile. 3) Nurse documents the drug being given and the drug charge is captured. Is this feasible in 90% of cases? We are afraid this will be the scenario: 1) ER is too busy and the doctor is too busy 2) The nurse will override the profile and take what is needed. 3) the doctor will sign off at the end of his shift.
