Title: RE: [MEDITECH-L] FW: Nursing Carts

Another cart to consider if we are wanting to store medications for a med pass is the Initi from Artromick it has an all-in-one PC/monitor.  The new RIOUX from Riouxvision looks really nice and compact but won't be available until 4th quarter 2006.

I was asked to post the responses I received.  I am just in search of the
perfect cart :)

Personally I use Stinger carts but I think RiouxVision is a close second.
They are much sturdier that Ergotron I think and better support post sale.

We use Ergotron carts for eMAR/BMV (laptops) and would be happy to
discuss our selection and satisfaction with you.  Please note I'm not
familiar with Rioux.  Thanks and good luck.

Just a little word to the wise...Be careful in selecting carts with built in
technolgy I know Rioux is not interchangable with other vendor products so
if technolgy changes and you need to upgrade laptops or devices then you are
stuck with one vendor.

Our facility leased Riouxvision 2.5 years ago, both carts and
wallmounts.  The lease is expiring and we are now replacing them with
the Ergotron carts.

We use Ergotron carts. They have a narrow wheel base, so fit in rooms well,
but are still very stable when moved. Battery life is good (with the large
battery in the base of the cart) and they are user friendly except for the
positioning and retractability of the power cord. If we were to redesign the
cart, we would have the cord exiting at the top of the cart base and it
would not be retractable. Otherwise it's a nice cart--functions well and
looks good!

We use Rioux in our EDM, we are not LIVE with EMAR/BMV yet, they like
those carts in EDM. They do have downtime (breakdown, or other issues,
battery?) but the users like that device much better than the 45-60
Stinger carts we have on the nsg units.

I saw you post on the L about your nurse carts. We purchased 7 ergotron
carts last year to use with PCS and in less than a year have had to send 3
of them back to the manufacturer which we had to fight with them to cover
them because they said we were mishandling them. We are constantly having
maintenance work on them because they get so tight or stuck that they won't
move up or down. Hopefully others haven't had this trouble, but we don't
recommend them!

Hi All,
We have narrowed down our selection to RiouxVision and Ergotron Carts.
If you are using either of these carts for Nursing-specifically for BMV
documentation, can we contact you?

Thanks
