FYI:
I had posted earlier this month about our issues with long load times with
Micromedex into Magic 5.4.
We were having 14+ hour load times in LIVE and this occasionally caused
failures for one reason or other.
In TEST 5.5
1. We had Meditech load two new DTS's : 7071 and 7566.
2. We downloaded the new NUI workstation software 4.20 at their suggestion.
3. We then managed and telnetted the PC to directly connect to our Pharmacy
machine.
4. In OPS we set the Negotiate Remote Read setting to "N" in the E/E
Termservers,PCs,RemoteHosts routine.
5. I then ran the Micromedex load in one files set (A FULL FILE LIST).
I was surprised to find the file loaded in a little less than 2 hours (1:57). I
had Meditech check the load and they found no errors.
I filed the run and got only two minor errors on the LIST TAPE ERRORS routine.
The number of drugs that filed was the same as my LIVE filing at 3529 drugs.
I am having my Pharmacists check the interactions in TEST but I was amazed at
the reduction in load times. My earlier load time
in TEST 5.5 was over 8 hours before I made the changes. I am told by Meditech
that I can expect to see similar fast load times when
we go LIVE with 5.5 next week
