Tim: California long ago required us to collect language information for all patients. We have a group response with about 70 languages in the list. This is tied to a required query in Admissions for all patients (although not the referred short form registrations). The language information is printed on the face sheet. We had one little start up glitch. We were so focused on the idea of supporting interpreter services, we forgot to make English one of the languages on our group response. Hope that helps.
