Hello Everyone...
We have a policy that states only physicians with admitting privileges can place orders on Admitted Inpatients. I'm in desperate need of an OE Rule that would prevent the user from filing an order if the ordering provider did not have admitting privileges and the patient's status was "ADM IN". I can write a rule using the field markers of: [f pt status]="ADM IN" and [f ord dr mne]="the.provider.mnemonic", but this doesn't give me what I need... We have too many providers in our MIS Doct Dict to set this rule entering each provider mnemonic. Please help!!
I want the rule to do the following: IF the ordering provider has "NO" at the MIS.DOC.DICT.admit.priv prompt & the patient's status is "ADM IN", then an order error message appears, if not, the order is okay.
I've know we can create custom keywords in PHA for PHA Rules, but that's not possible in OE Rules.... Any suggestions would be so gratefully appreciated. I've created a task with Meditech but no resolution as yet. Thanks in advance for your response. Have a wonderful 4th and let's all be thankful for our Independence!
